Winter trips on the Baikal Lake with Russia Trekking

DAY 1. Arrival in Moscow. Transfer and accommodation at the Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel.

DAY 2. Moscow – Irkutsk. Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning city tour around Moscow with English-speaking guide (or German/French/Italian/Spanish). Visiting Red Square, main sight of the city: Sparow Hills observation platform. Lunch in a local restaurant. Transfer to the airport and flight to Irkutsk. Flight is 5 hours. The time difference with Irkutsk is + 5 hours from Moscow time.

DAY 3. Irkutsk. In the morning arrival in Irkutsk. Meeting at the airport with the English-speaking guide (or German, French, Italian, Spanish guide). Breakfast in a local restaurant. City Tour in Irkutsk with the English-speaking guide. Lunch in ” 130 quarter” in Irkutsk in a local restaurant. Transfer to Listvyanka village. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Listvyanka.

DAY 4. Listvyanka village. Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Taltsy Architectural and Ethnographic Museum. The open-air museum Taltsy is located 20 kilometers away from Listvyanka. The exposition features wooden buildings brought from all over Siberia. You will be warmed by local herbal tea. Lunch in a local restaurant with Baikal cuisine. After lunch excursion to Limnological Museum. You will know what Baikal lake is. Baikal Limnological Museum is the richest display, covering all facets of Lake Baikal. Here you will learn about the formation of the ancient lake on the planet, its amazing flora and fauna. And the animals, including the Baikal seal – see live.

DAY 5: Listvyanka village – Olkhon Island. Conquering the ice of Lake Baikal on the way to Olkhon. After Breakfast we sail to the shore of Lake Baikal, to stay in the cabin of the hovercraft (Hivus). In the next 6-7 hours, you will find one of the most exciting journeys of your life. We will climb about 150 kilometers of Baikal ice, and throughout the trip, we will see the wilderness. Every 10 minutes, for each new headland in front of us, will open up the new and more amazing scenery! And rock paintings of ancient inhabitants, one of the most beautiful bays of Lake Baikal, vast fields of ice hummocks and other impressive paintings.

On approaching the Strait of Olkhon and the Maloye Sea (Small Sea) in front of our eyes appear amazing Tegernsee steppes, an interesting mystical rock remains caves, herds of yaks. The location of the Maloye Sea (Small Sea).

A walk on the very pure ice of lake Baikal. This evening we will have quite a bit of time to enjoy the nature of the Maloye Sea and Olkhon island to the fullest. But we will walk along the coastal ice, and partly relish the amazing feeling of special energy space, which cover the guests of the island.

DAY 6: Olkhon island. After breakfast the journey by hovercraft. The conquest of the vast ice of the Maloye Sea, we go by four-wheel cars on big wheels, with a spacious interior. Get ready to see something awesome! The scale of the Maloye Sea is impressive. In order to explore the most interesting places, it will take us about 5-6 hours. During this time, you will be able to make a thousand unique images of the beautiful, clean Baikal ice, look at the enchanting ice cave, walk along the rocky uninhabited Islands, learn some incredible facts about the local nature and culture.

DAY 7. Maloye More (Small Sea) Leisure day. After such intense days, you’ll be happy to stop for a while to “digest” the impressions and to enjoy the tranquility, contemplating the fantastic panorama of the winter Baikal. But if you want to enrich this day of new experiences and features will be a large number of possibilities to increase the degree of excitement! You will be able to explore the new places on how use or Quad bike, play ICE golf, fly by helicopter to the mountains, relax at the Spa, go ice fishing or to meet with a real shaman.

DAY 8. Irkutsk. After Breakfast the group returns back to Irkutsk by a comfortable minibus. It takes about 5-6 hours including stops. Lunch is in a Buryat café. After lunch, you will have a possibility to visit Ust-Orda Buryat national Museum where the history and culture of this people appear in the form of unexpectedly bright spectacular images.

Accommodation in Irkutsk. Upon arrival to Irkutsk, we will be staying at the hotel. Our city will surprise you with the tradition of Imperial architecture, entire neighborhoods recreated merchant mansions, pleasant atmosphere upscale restaurants, where you will finally be able to share fresh impressions about your amazing journey fettered by ice of the Siberian Sea.

Day 9 Irkutsk-Moscow-Home. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Moscow. Connecting flight home.
